Introduction

ClearAir (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the ClearAir mobile application (the “App”).

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

ClearAir stores the following data locally on your device only using on-device storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers:

  • Quit date — the date and time you stopped vaping
  • Weekly vaping cost — used to calculate your savings
  • Relapse history — dates, locations, and context of any relapses you log
  • Motivations and goals — your reasons for quitting and savings goals
  • Pledge name — the name you enter on your pledge card
  • Notification preferences — your chosen notification settings
  • Cravings crushed count — a counter of cravings you've overcome

Apple Sign In (Optional)

If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive:

  • Your Apple user identifier (an anonymous, app-specific ID)
  • Your name (only if you choose to share it)
  • Your email address (only if you choose to share it)

This information is used solely to personalize your experience within the App (e.g., pre-filling your pledge card name). We do not store this information on any external server.

You are not required to sign in with Apple to use the App.

Subscription and Purchase Data

We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:

  • An anonymous app user ID
  • Purchase receipts and transaction data
  • Subscription status and entitlement information
  • Device type and operating system version

RevenueCat processes this data to validate purchases and manage your subscription. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Apple also processes payment and subscription data according to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we use Expo's notification service to deliver local reminders and milestone alerts. Notification content is generated on your device. We do not collect or store notification tokens on any external server.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect analytics or usage tracking data
  • We do not use advertising identifiers or ad tracking
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties
  • We do not store your health or habit data on any server
  • We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies

How We Use Your Information

All habit-tracking data remains on your device and is used exclusively to:

  • Track your vaping cessation progress
  • Calculate money saved and time smoke-free
  • Display health recovery milestones
  • Send local push notification reminders (if enabled)
  • Personalize your quit plan and pledge card

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is stored locally on your device for as long as you use the App. You can delete all your data at any time from Settings → Delete All Data within the App. Uninstalling the App will also remove all locally stored data.

To request deletion of any data held by RevenueCat related to your subscription, please contact us at support@clearair.app.

Children's Privacy

ClearAir is not intended for use by children under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@clearair.app.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. All data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage provided by the operating system. Subscription transactions are processed securely through Apple's App Store.

Your Rights

All users have the right to:

  • Access your data at any time within the App
  • Delete all your data from Settings → Delete All Data
  • Opt out of notifications at any time from Settings
  • Cancel your subscription via Apple's subscription management

European Economic Area (EEA) & United Kingdom

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR, including:

  • Right of access — request a copy of your personal data
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Right to restrict processing — request we limit how we use your data
  • Right to data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object — object to our processing of your data
  • Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

Since ClearAir stores all data locally on your device and does not transmit personal data to our servers, most of these rights are satisfied by your direct control over the App. You can delete all data at any time from Settings → Delete All Data.

Legal basis for processing: Where we process personal data (e.g., subscription management via RevenueCat), our legal basis is the performance of a contract (providing you with the service you subscribed to).

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

California (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
  • Right to delete your personal information
  • Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell your personal information
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights

Brazil (LGPD)

If you are located in Brazil, you have rights under the Lei Geral de Protecao de Dados (LGPD), including the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data. Contact us at support@clearair.app to exercise these rights.

Australia

If you are located in Australia, your personal information is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988.

International Data Transfers

Your habit-tracking data is stored locally on your device and is not transferred internationally. Subscription data processed by RevenueCat may be transferred to and processed in the United States. RevenueCat employs appropriate safeguards for international transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
